David Chi-Ping Chow (“Mr. Chow”), aged 60, is going to be appointed as a member of our investment advisory committee. Mr. Chow is primarily responsible for helping the Group to make capital expenditure, tax related, investment decision in real estate. From December 2008 to April 2015, Mr. Chow was an independent director of a Hong Kong listed real estate developer. Based in Shanghai and United States, Mr. Chow has more than 26 years of business advisory and financial management experience in China and United States. Mr. Chow is currently the executive directors with Affinity Capital Inc. and Firmus Capital Inc., both are based in Shanghai. Affinity and Firmus operate as small investment funds in the space of creative and design, healthcare, and alternative energy opportunities.
Mr. Chow has over 25 years of experience in financial planning, corporate internal control and audit, strategic planning and implementation. He graduated from the Santa Clara University, California, the United States with a bachelor in accounting degree and completed a master of taxation degree. He is also a certified tax practitioner and a certified public accountant in the United States.
Mr. Chow started his career and worked as a financial analyst in Motorola. He later joined Speakman & Price public accounting firm as a partner, the firm later became a member of KPMG. Since 1992, Mr. Chow’s other professional experiences include serving as the Chief Financial Officer of a subsidiary of the Johnson & Johnson Group, the PRC CFO and Vice President of supply chain for Nabisco, CFO of the Pillsbury Company (the parent of Haagen-Dazs) and subsequently worked for General Mills as a China CFO after its merger with The Pillsbury Company. He also served as an independent director of Delta Technology Holdings Limited (a company listed on NASDAQ Global Market).
